Sorry for the late reply Maria , i just got up (one of the perks of self employed !) ...

Online Affiliate Marketing is just like a real world commsssion based selling. You basically sell other website's products /services and get a commission for each sale/lead you produced.


How this works ?

You basically join a merchant's affiliate marketing program directly or through an network( cj.com/linkshare.com etc) .After the merchant approves you will get tracking urls which you should promote (through your website) . When the visitor clicks this url and land in the merchant site and buys something you are credited a pre-defined commssion.

Usually the visitor is tracked using a cookie ,so even if the visitor dont buy in the first visit you will still get commission if he visits again and buys (before the cookie expires) .So the longer the cookie the better.

Basically most affiliate marketers use search marketing (paid/ppc as well as organic/free) to promote their merchants offers.


I think in my post last year i talked about rich dad/poor dad book because it will help you for an attitude change .But i ;dont neccarily support all he says (ike his approval of MLM and also its not like Real Estate is the the best business )

G, I am no software/finance person. To make my understanding clear, in lay man terms, it is something like ' getting referral bonus by marketing and providing link to their websites thru ours. Is it right?.
